Flashy red tick roan ram lamb. He has solid EBVs, especially high on prolificacy and lots of colors in this pedigree. A mix of local, Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri), Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM Iowa) and Misty Oaks Farm (Kathy Bielek, OH) genetics.
This due was born a quad, and I didn’t want the dam to try to raise them all, so this guy was the pick for orphan rearing. He’s been trained to the teat bucket from the start (not hand/bottle fed), so isn’t overly tame and at risk of becoming an obnoxious adult. He is ready to wean and go to a new home today, but should stay on creep feed at least until June before being turned out on grass alone, to allow his rumen to fully develop. Photo taken April 2023.
