Offered for sale as a registered Katahdin ewe $500, exposed
Stocky white six year old ewe. Very high milk score, moderate on prolificacy (though she’s still had three sets of triplets!) and a little low on growth EBVs. She is a calm and dedicated mother. This pedigree captures genetics from Carl Ginapp (Iowa, now retired), Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri), and KRK (Karen Kenagy, Oregon). A good chance to capture some diverse genetics from long-time NSIP producers.
Lambing record starting as a 2-year-old: 2/2*, 2/1*, 3/2*, 3/3, 3/2. *These three years I grafted one of her lambs onto other ewes due to management decisions, not because she was doing anything wrong. In 2021 she raised triplets successfully, and in 2022 she had one stillborn triplet and raised the twins on her own.
Photo taken December 2022 and she’s looking heavily pregnant already. EBVs from 2022 lamb crop EPWWT data. This ewe is NSIP genotyped. She has been exposed to a ram since 9/20/22 and is expected to lamb in the March-April timeframe.
