Llama Shearing

Here is a little pictorial of the llama shearing event last weekend. Above is the “before” nappy hair shot. She was definitely long overdue for a shear!

Here she is, partially sheared, and being very well behaved. The shearer and his helper were a good team, they were gentle handlers and they did a fast and clean job.

Here I am discussing her teeth with the vet. Though  I’d ground them down some in January, they were still too long.

So he cut then with a blade tool on a Dremmel, and then ground them smooth with a grinder attachment.

And here she is, back in the pasture, hopefully feeling a lot cooler!
