He is of that unusual body type that’s very angular, with a tight wool coat that really shows off the frame. Though these “camel type” lambs tend to look bony/framey, I find they are actually very heavy on the scale. He was significantly heavier than his sib at 60 days, besides looking less fleshed/wooled. He is NSIP Maternal and Stud Certified. He will be weaned mid August and ready to go to a new home and start breeding this fall!

Sire hails from North Carolina State University, tracing back to Roxanne Newton’s Hound River Farm in Georgia, Lee Wright’s flock in Virginia, and the USDA Research Station in Booneville, AR; all of whom are so well known for their excellence in parasite resistance selection. Dam comes from local genetics (Mary Bakko and Jody Ouradnik in Eastern WA, both now retired from sheep).

Dam traces to Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri) and a past sire from Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM in Iowa). You won’t get more out of state genetics than this!
