KMC 18082

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb, $350

A classic white ram with balanced EBVs that are more in the moderate range. This ram won’t produce anything too extreme, but will have good-growing lambs, and his daughters will likely steer away from triplets most of the time, while still providing good milk.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken  in mid October. This ram is weaned and ready to go to a new breeding home today!

KMC 18115

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb, $500

A beautiful, colorful ram with strong EBVs across the board. He will make a great terminal sire or a maternal sire for generating replacement ewes. He is NSIP Maternal  Certified. He has some strong genetics from Mary Bakko’s now-retired line, Misty River Farm, as well as some Iowa and Missouri sheep in his pedigree. Very diverse background, bringing new genetics to the PNW.

EBVs from the 2019 lamb crop WWT data. Photo taken August 2019. He was one of my top picks from last year’s lamb crop, I wintered him over and he’s looking great. This ram is a mature yearling ready to go to work this fall!

KMC 18123

Offered for sale as a registered ewelamb, $275

Flashy buckskin pinto ewe with strong growth and milk EBVs, moderate on prolificacy. Her dam is novel to NSIP so data behind her is less accurate; but she’s been a good mother here in her two years so far. A blend of some local genetics with a paternal granddam of a Birch Cove ewe from Missouri. Tons of color in this pedigree, including a lot with flashy markings.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken  in July. This lamb is weaned and ready to go to a new home today.

KMC 7110

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, $350

This is a really pretty white ewe with a tabletop topline and a long body with good muscling. She is modest on growth, but strong om milk and prolificacy.  She was pregnant as a yearling, but had a stillborn lamb. So I’m discounting her, though I suspect it was a random one-off and she’ll twin reliably from here on out.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken  in September 2018. She is being exposed to a ram now, I expect her to be marked/bred before Thanksgiving.

A well-put-together chocolate ewe with good growth and milk scores, and modest on prolificacy. Good mother, nice shedding coat, diverse genetics including capturing some of David Coplen’s Birch Cove genetics in Missouri.

KMC 4028

Offered for sale as a registered four-year-old ewe, $400, exposed to a ram starting 11/3/18

This is a large-framed white ewe with a few brown spots that has a lot of larger-framed sheep in her background.  She is a reliable mother and has really strong growth scores and good milk, but is low on prolificacy and will tend towards twins and singles. This is why I’m selling her,  she is “indexing-out” of my flock because of the lower NLB score.

EBVs from 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken January 2019.  Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 1/1, 2/2. She is bred to KMC7045, due to lamb in April.

KMC 3043

Offered for sale as a registered five-year-old ewe, $375, exposed to a ram starting 11/3/18

A fawn ewe with a white blaze and tail tip, very standard body  type and frame size, great shedder with a very smooth summer hair coat. She is a very reliable mother with high prolificacy scores and positive growth EBVs. What I don’t prefer is her lower milk score, which doesn’t serve her lambs well on pasture, especially if there are triplets. (I intentionally orphan-reared one for her this year so the remaining two could grow faster, which worked well.)  She would thrive in an environment where lambs are creep-fed, if it’s easy to bottle-feed one, or there is a little richer feed for the ewes during lactation besides just grass.  Or for a small homestead where you just don’t care how fast the lambs grow, as triplets will be slower with her.

She has some old genetics and a clean pedigree that lacks some of the annoying frequently-used-sires that lurk in almost every pedigree here, so some people really desire these roots.

EBVs from 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken September 2017.  Lambing record starting as a yearling: 2/2, 2/2, 3/2 (one stillborn), 2/2, 3/2

KMC 18037

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $500

This is one of the top ram lambs born here this year. A very substantial, heavyweight ram.  His sire seems to be turning out to be a real nick- a leapfrog in genetics compared to his parents, his lamb crop has been phenomenal for growth.  Sire’s maternal line is from the now-retired Mist River genetics.  Dam is one of my top-performing ewes from Birch Cove farm in Missouri; she is a nice blend of NSIP genetics from the Midwest and South, and she comes with good parasite resistance scores. This ram will make a very productive herd sire that can throw a great combo of fast-growing butcher lambs and really valuable replacement ewes with good milk and prolificacy. It’s hard to “have it all” in one animal, this is one of the few!

Photo taken August 2018  EBVs from 2018 lamb crop WWT data. This lamb will be weaned 8/19 and ready to go to a new home and breed this fall.

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $450, exposed to a ram starting 11/3/18

Pretty, moderate-framed red ewe.  Good growth, milk and survival, moderate on prolificacy. She’ll likely be a twinner for the rest of her life, but less likely to have a lot of triplets.
