Offered for sale as a registerable Katahdin ewelamb $300

Chunky chocolate ewe with a white star and some white spotting. She was the result of an accidental breeding last August but I was able to confirm her sire via DNA. 21053 is an awesome sire (the best out of the USDA sire we got to borrow from the Booneville, AR research station) and I haven’t gotten a chance to use him much yet, so she is a rare daughter out of him. Pedigree traces back to Birch Cove (David Coplen, MO) and also has some genetics from a breeder who bought from Karen Kenagy (KRK in OR).

EBVs from the 2024 lamb crop WWT data. Photo taken May 2024. She is weaned and ready to go to a new home today. Because she’s older and more substantial, she is much more likely to breed this fall than April born ewelambs.

Offered for sale as a recordable Katahdin ewelamb $275

Framey solid chocolate ewe. She was the result of an accidental breeding last August while I still had all the unweaned ram lambs with the dams. Her EBVs are pretty strong despite the hole in her pedigree, so her own performance, her dam’s EBVs and her DNA show she is a good ewe. Dam traces back to Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired) and a little bit from Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, MT).

Tall white ewe with some large Wiltshire Horn style big brown spots. She was the result of an accidental breeding last August while I still had all the unweaned ram lambs with the dams. Her DNA sample failed so I have re-submitted it and may know more about her in Aug, and that will likely also change her EBVs. Dam is out of a neat sire we got to borrow from the USDA Research Station in Booneville, AR; and she also traces back to Birth Cove (David Coplen, MO) and Thistle Grove Farm (David Bare, DVM, IA).

Chunky white ewe with black spotting. She was the result of an accidental breeding last August while I still had all the unweaned ram lambs with the dams. DNA testing was not able to deduce her sire, so she can be recorded as a 50%. Despite this blank spot in her pedigree, her EBVs are still very strong, based on her own growth,  her dam’s data and her DNA/genomics. Dam’s MWWT is 2.14 and my whole flock has a high average, so any ram who sired her would likely also pass on good milk genetics (scores are zeroed out for MWWT when there is not yet enough data). Dam traces back to  Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri) and the rest is local genetics.

EBVs from the 2024 lamb crop WWT data. Photo taken May 2024. She is weaned and ready to go to a new home today. Because she’s older and more substantial, she is much more likely to breed this fall than April born ewelambs.

KMC 24025

Offered for sale as a purebred, record-able Katahdin ewelamb $300

This is one chubby bunny white ewelamb!  She is the result of an accidental breeding last August, so any of my sixty-some ram lambs here at that time would have been candidate sires. She is purebred, but only recordable at 50%. Her dam traces back to Birch Cove (David Copen, Missouri) and my own genetics.

Photo taken May 2024 .  EBVs from 2024 BWT data. (EBVs are lower than expected because the sire component averaged in has zeroes.) She can be weaned and ready to go to a new home in June.
