Offered for sale as a pet Katahdin ewe $275
Standard white ewe, six years old. I realized she was very thin in late pregnancy, likely caused by an abscessed molar that was making it hard to eat and ruminate. I brought her in for special treatment and she lambed ok and is still producing quite a bit of milk for her triplets, though I taught them to eat creep feed right away to supplement. I treated her for the tooth abscess and I believe she has recovered. I’ve had a few other ewes with these, they create a bony hardened lump where the damaged tooth was, but once it heals they are able to graze, ruminate and live normally. She is gaining weight and condition and is happy and has a good appetite. It’s possible she could be bred again, as long as she’s at a small farm where her weight and feed can be managed carefully. Otherwise she’ll make a nice pasture pet/ lawnmower. Cull price but I will pass along her registration if it’s desired.
