This is a gorgeous, full-bodied and meaty ewe, with chocolate coloring and white spots on her face and legs. She has very good growth and milk scores, with lower prolificacy, so a great combo for those triplet-haters out there!

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $475

This is a beautiful buckskin ram with a white krunet marking. Really strong PWWT score, good milk, and modest prolificacy. He’ll make a good terminal sire, and will produce replacement ewes that throw growthy lambs but steer clear of triplets most of the time.

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $475

A very standard white ram with solid growth numbers and strong prolificacy, survival and milk. This pedigree is a total outcross of two parents from out of state, so brings in very diverse genetics to the PNW. The sire is from Iowa, from John Bare’s Thistle Grove Farm. The dam is from David Coplen’s Birch Cove Farm. Both are breeding programs very focused on EBVs and maternal performance, and nearly everything in this pedigree is from top NSIP producers around the country. He makes the NSIP Stud Certified status as well as the NSIP Maternal Certified, which is very hard to get, and he’s the only ram lamb here this year to achieve it.

Annoyingly, this ram has scurs, at the very least, but they may turn into horns, so I have discounted him accordingly. His sire is scurred, and I found that he passed these genes on to about 5-10% of his lamb crop (rams only) each year. Scurs and horns are acceptable in our breed, just not preferred. So it seems a shame to waste these great maternal genetics over a cosmetic issue. Use him to produce butcher lambs and some great replacement ewes!

Solid red ram with very balanced EBVs across the board. Should throw vigorous lambs that grow reasonably well, and solid daughters to use as replacement breeders.

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, bred $450

This is a pretty reddish-brown ewe with a white tail and hind socks. She has strong growth EBVs and a positive milk score, so should have growthy lambs; but her prolificacy should steer away from frequent triplets. Her sire is my “maternal sire” ram from Iowa, John Bare, DVM’s flock at Thistle Grove Farm.  There are some Montana genetics on her maternal side, so she brings some fresh blood to the PNW.

This ewe has been exposed to a ram, due to lamb in April. Her lambs will be registerable. Keep in mind that mature ewes usually twin, so the floor of profit is $400 in butcher lambs, more if you sell some registered lambs or have triplets, so bred ewes have a great ROI. There are no guarantees on pregnancy status, since viability is mostly due to handling and feeding; but I rarely have one end up open. EBVs from this year’s lamb crop 120 day weight data. A balanced white ewe with good maternal scores and positive growth.  Her maternal grandmother is from Aileen Scott’s Aspen Mountain farm in Montana, so she brings some fresh blood in from out of state. Her paternal grandsire is from Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko) which is a now-retired line. This girl is ready to provide you with a decade of twins!

Offered for sale as a registered two-year-old ewe, $300

A deep-bodied, chocolate ewe. Good mother, good shedder. She’s middle-of-the-road on EBVs, positive growth numbers, a little light on milk and survival, but strong for twinning genetics. I expect her to be a solid producer that lives a long life.

This is a buckskin lamb with flashy white markings. His dam is new to my farm, so she lacks any NSIP data or accuracy, and was never bred before arriving here. But she is a big, deep-bodied ewe that’s mellow to handle and has been a good mother. I think there may be more potential in these genetics than the EBVs can tell us at this point, but so far, these twin rams have grown well.

A pretty, tall chocolate brockle-faced ewe. She has very balanced EBVs across the board, good growth, positive prolificacy and good milk. This is hard to get. Her sire brings in fresh blood from Iowa, John Bare DVM and Thistle Grove Farm. Dam is from some old stock WA genetics, with a Dorper thrown in way in the background; plus a North Dakota State ram in there too.
