Tall red buckskin ewelamb. Strong on growth, survival and milk and moderate on prolificacy, for those who like to avoid triplets. Her pedigree is a blend of my own and local genetics, plus Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri) and Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired).

Full bodied red flecked six-year-old ewe. Her EBVs are modest across the board, which is why I’m selling her, her scores are just a little low to stay on my keeper list. But she is a good mother and has many years of lambing left in her.  Pedigree is a blend of Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri), Carl Ginapp (Iowa, now retired from sheep), Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired), Just Plain Sheep (Jody Ouradnik, now retired) and KRK (Karen Kenagy, Oregon) and my own genetics. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 2/1, 2/2, 1/1, 1/1.

Tall dark mahogany ewe. Really strong growth, milk and survival EBVs. Her NLB score is fairly low pedigree-wide, so she may steer away from triplets and single some of the time. Sire is one of the top NSIP rams in the country with lots of data and accuracy behind is EBVs, out of Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri). Dam also traces back to Birch Cove, and my own/local genetics.

She had a beautiful and very well fed ram lamb that died from clostridium (overeating disease) at three weeks of age. This is not her fault, it’s just a bummer consequence of breakthrough cases despite a good vaccination protocol. She has been exposed/bred to PTK21045 and is scheduled to lamb April 2024.

Sire is one of the top NSIP rams in the country with lots of data and accuracy behind is EBVs, out of Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri). Dam is from Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired) and traces back to KRK stock (Karen Kenagay, Oregon). She is both NSIP Maternal and Stud Certified.

Flashy mahogany and white ewelamb with a big blaze, white bib and back half, front socks and four black feet! She’s got good growth, survival and milk scores, but low on prolificacy for those who like to steer clear of a lot of multi births in their replacement ewes. A mix of Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri), Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired) and my own flock genetics.

Ample-bodied yearling ewe with big orange spots. Balanced and moderate EBVs, but strong on milk. Pedigree traces back to Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri), KRK (Karen Kenagy, Oregon) and Just Plain Sheep (Jody Ouradnik, now retired) genetics. Sire is from Birch Cove, he is one of the strongest EBV rams in the country right now, with strong, proven data behind him. We are lucky to have him here on the west coast and he’s going to be an influencer for some time to come. She is NSIP Maternal Certified. Lambing record: 1/1.

White 6-year old ewe with the East Coast body style and curly coat type (but sheds well). Modest growth and milk EBVs, but very high prolificacy: she had quads this year, which is extremely rare or me. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 2/1, 2/2, 3/2, 4/1. Sire from Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM, Iowa), dam out of local genetics and White Post Farm (East Coast, now retired), and the old Bert Martineau line.

This ewe has had some wanderin’ lambs in past years, so I have ended up orphan rearing a couple; and of course with quads, I didn’t let her raise all four on pasture. Despite her having lower growth scores, her lambs always grow like gangbusters; and this body type with the short coat always really shows off the muscling, they are very framey. I like this ewe but am selling her because her index is starting to be on my lower end. She’ll be a good middle aged mama for a  starter flock and should have many more years left to lamb.
