KMC 18096

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $500

This is a really nice set of triplet ram lambs out of my only badger-colored ewe.  You can see how instinctively tight-knit they are, even at this age. This is how you get NLW in the double-digits, is dams that look after their triplets closely, and lambs that stick to their dams. 18096 is the middle ram in the photo. The sibling at left actually had a little better WWT, but this ram looks more substantial and masculine to me now at 90 days, and they are very close in scores. This pedigree brings in almost all non-PNW genetics, so this ram offers diverse genetics for our region.  He is an NSIP Maternal Certified ram, and is in the top 10% of the nation for growth scores, while still having very strong EBVs across the board, which is hard to get. Let this guy bring improved genetics for growth, prolifacy, survival and milk into your operation!  This is one of my top picks from this year’s lamb crop, this ram promises to be a really strong sire.

Photo taken July 2018 with dam and triplet siblings.  EBVs from 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. This lamb is weaned and ready to go to a breeding home today!

KMC 18079

Offered for sale as a registered ewelamb $300

Big-bodied, red roan ewe with really strong growth (top 10% in the country) and good milk scores. Moderate prolificacy, though this girl may sometimes have triplets. She’s got Aspen Mountain (Montana) and Birch Cove (Missouri) genetics behind her, as well as Misty River, now retired from sheep.

Photo taken July 2018.  EBVs from 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. This lamb is weaned and ready to go to a new home today.

KMC 18076

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $500

This is a very standard white ram that promises to really improve your growth and milk genetics! Those WWT, PWWT and MWWT scores are in the top 1% of the nation. His prolificacy is more moderate, so his daughters are still likely to twin, but steer away from multiple births.

Photo taken July 2018  EBVs from 2018 lamb crop WWT data. This lamb will be weaned mid-August, or I could wean him sooner for an interested buyer.

KMC 18073

Offered for sale as a registered ewelamb, $275

A tall reddish-fawn baldfaced ewe with white socks. This is a really diverse pedigree, incorporating genes from Iowa (Thistle Grove), Ohio (Misty Oaks), Illinois, (Whitepost Farm, now retired) and Montana (Aspen Mountain).  Very solid growth and milk numbers and moderate prolificacy, this girl may help avoid triplets for those who don’t like them, but should be a solid twinner that can reliably raise good lambs.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken  in mid July. This ewelamb tested pregnant in Feb.

KMC 18152

Offered for sale as a registered ewelamb, $200

A cute and flashy little fawn pinto ewelamb with decent balanced EBVs across the board, nothing too extreme, she will likely be a standard producer of moderate-sized twins. Her dam was bred by the cleanup ram, so this pedigree is more inbred than I prefer. Thus I have discounted her. But if she is bred to an out-cross ram, she is probably a safe bet. And KMC5088 himself was an out-cross between local and Missouri genetics, so there is still quite a bit of genetic diversity in this pedigree. Since folks love pintos (and discounted sheep!) and this color is hard to get in ewes, I thought I’d go ahead and list her for sale.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken  in July. She is weaned and ready to go to a new home today.

KMC 18101

Offered for sale as a registered ewelamb $300

Nicely structured white ewe with brown ear tips. Really strong growth and prolificacy, moderate milk. I expect this ewe to have some triplets in her lifetime and otherwise always twin.

Photo taken July 2018 with her dam at side.  EBVs from 2018 lamb crop WWT data. This lamb will be weaned mid-August, or could go sooner with her mother.

KMC 7036

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, $350

This is a beautiful brow freckled yearling with big capacity,  that has maintained really good weight while growing a huge ram lamb. True to her EBVs, she has thrown a good grower that was well-fed with great milk.  She meets the criteria for the NSIP Certified Maternal designation, due to being in the top 50% for the index, and top 30% for NLB and MWWT. Her sire is from Iowa, dam is one of Mary Bakko’s (Misty River Farm) last ewes, and one of her highest scoring ones, sold off when she retired in 2016.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 60 day weight data. Photo taken  in July, pictured here with her lamb. Her chocolate ram lamb (18102) will be weaned mid-August, or she can go with him at side sooner (for an extra fee).  Lambing history starting as a yearling: 1/1.

KMC 7108

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, $425, exposed to a ram starting 11/3/18

This is a beautiful mahogany pinto ewe with very balanced EBVS- good growth and positive milk, with moderate prolificacy and survival. This girl is likely to have twins most of her life.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 60 day weight data. Photo taken  in July. She did not lamb as a yearling, which is true of about half my yearlings this year. She is being exposed now, I expect her to be marked/bred before Thanksgiving.

KMC 7103

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, $375

Behold this ewe- she is a gorgeous physical specimen! She is quite large-framed, a good shedder and has really strong growth EBVs, good survival and milk, and moderate prolificacy. I have kept her twin sister, so am parting with this exceptional-looking ewe only because I can’t keep too many of the same thing. She is a blend of two different ewes from David Copen’s Birch Cove Farm in Missouri. I’ve had fantastic luck with his genetics, he has a very mature breeding program on grass with low inputs, and his stock is hardy and productive! There are quite a few red sheep (and a badger!) in this pedigree, so she will throw color some of the time.

EBVs from the 2018 lamb crop 60 day weight data. Photo taken  in July. She did not lamb as a yearling, which is true of about half my yearlings this year.
