Offered for sale as a purebred Katahdin yearling ewe, $325
Pretty fawn ewe with white snip, socks, tail and spots. This is a very “maternal ewe” pedigree and set of EBVs, very strong on prolificacy, more moderate on growth and milk. You are likely to get a lot of triplets out of this girl and they can survive and thrive! They will not be as fast-growing as some twinners, but it’s long-proven that our greatest profitability point is having that extra lamb, even at the cost of slower gains. Pedigree combines genetics from Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare) in Iowa, Misty Oaks Farm (Kathy Bielek, Ohio), White Post Farm (East Coast, now retired), On the Lamb Farm (Sara-Jo Gahm, Arlington), and Bert Martineau (now retired).
Photo taken May 2020. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop birth data. This ewe is open, ready to go to a new home today and breed this fall!
