Offered for sale as a pet Katahdin ewe $275
Sweet and gentle old wheaten colored girl who’s had lots of lambs here in her lifetime. Good hair coat. Her performance is starting to dwindle here, but she could be bred again in a more generous feeding environment at a small homestead. Or she can just retire and live out her days as a lawnmower. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 2/2, 3/3, 2/2, 3/2, 3/2, 2/0, 3/2, 2/0. She was capable of raising triplets as a young ewe, but in her later years, I pulled one and let her raise twins. Twice she’s aborted twins early, including this year, so this could be a signal that her productive years are winding down. But she does have really good genetics, especially for prolifacy.
Photo taken May 2022. EBVs from 2022 lamb crop WWT data and includes the new Genomics run calculations, and this ewe has been genotyped. This ewe can go to a new home any time.
