Offered for sale as a purebred Katahdin ram lamb $450
Really striking dark mahogany ram with a big white blaze, white front toe tips and tail, long hind socks, and white markings on his sides. He is very tall and framey like both parents. Sired by a framey, dark chocolate ram from Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri). Dam traces to KRK, Morgan Ensor’s line, and Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana). He’s got good growth EBVs, positive milk, and is more modest on prolificacy.
Photo from June 2021. EBVs from 2021 WWT data. This guy’s dam didn’t have a lot of milk this year, she’s getting older. So I brought them into the barn so he could creep feed. She’s sold and will be leaving late June, so he’s essentially weaned and could go to a new home any time. He should continue to be fed creep (16% CP+ grain) for another month or so, until his rumen is mature and he learns to graze, to maintain his good growth plane.
