Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $250
This girl is a grass machine, with a very pretty dark mahogany, white blaze and socks. She is out of old PNW genetics that aren’t around much anymore. She has been very productive here, but the last few years, I’ve noticed a decline in her milk production. She had triplets this year, and hasn’t been entirely successful at even feeding one, despite her best efforts. So she can either go into retirement as a pet, or give someone a few more good ewelambs, as long as they are bottle supplemented. She is extremely maternal and looks after her lambs carefully, even if they are mostly nursing from the bucket. She is also very calm and easy to handle. She has very balanced EBVs, good growth, reasonable prolificacy and good milk. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 3/2, 3/3, 1/1, 2/2, 1/1, 3/0
Photo taken May 2021 (still in the process of shedding, but she is a very clean shedder). EBVs from 2021 lamb crop birth data. This ewe can go to a new home any time, as her lambs are all orphan-rears at this point.
