Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, bred $450
A deep-bodied, chocolate ewe. She’s middle-of-the-road on EBVs, positive growth numbers, a little light on milk and survival, but strong for twinning genetics. I expect her to be a solid producer that live a long life.
This ewe has been exposed to a ram, due to lamb in April. Her lambs will be registerable. Keep in mind that mature ewes usually twin, so the floor of profit is $400 in butcher lambs, more if you sell some registered lambs or have triplets, so bred ewes have a great ROI. There are no guarantees on pregnancy status, since viability is mostly due to handling and feeding; but I rarely have one end up open. EBVs from this year’s lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken early August.
