Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, bred $475
This is a very well-built white ewe with a few red dots here and there. She has great growth and prolificacy scores, and is only slightly weak on milk. I’d keep her, but I already have a lot of these genetics!
This ewe has been exposed to a ram, due to lamb in April. Her lambs will be registerable. Keep in mind that mature ewes usually twin, so the floor of profit is $400 in butcher lambs, more if you sell some registered lambs or have triplets, so bred ewes have a great ROI. There are no guarantees on pregnancy status, since viability is mostly due to handling and feeding; but I rarely have one end up open. EBVs from this year’s lamb crop data. Photo taken mid-May.
