Tiny Chicken

chickens1Check out this tiny chicken. These are all Rhode Island Reds, and they looked identical when I got them. But this one isn’t growing like the rest of them. At first I thought maybe she is a Bantam breed that snuck into the order by accident. But I really think it’s more than that- not only is she tiny, she is not maturing at the same rate, her feathering is way behind- she still looks like she’s a few days old. Maybe she has a faulty pituitary gland or something. She seems healthy, just tiny!

The rest of the chickens look like vultures right now, as the feathering on their heads hasn’t caught up with the rest of their bodies. chickens2
