Offered for sale as a registered ewe $525 with ewelamb at side

Really pretty, well-put-together white ewe. She birthed a stillborn single this spring. She was such a dedicated  mother that for hours, she pawed and worked at that lamb to get it up until she wore the hair off of it! She was in great distress when I finally took it away. I had a weak lamb in the barn from another mother that I grafted onto her, and she took it with ease. She is extremely maternal and remained very protective of her adopted lamb. Pedigree is a blend of Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri), Misty River (Mary Bakko, now retired), On the Lamb Farm (Arlington) and Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM, Iowa). She was open last year, I usually have one or two ewes that miss a season but go on to lamb normally in the future, as she seems to have done. She’s three, heading into her most productive years, and she lambed as a yearling, which is a plus. Her EBVs are good for growth and milk, and she’s taken a bit of a hit on NLB both for her own sake, and because her sire is low. But if she’s fed well, she will likely mostly be a twinner in the future.

Photo taken May 2021, she’s still in the process of shedding, and is a clean shedder.  EBVs from 2021 lamb crop birth data. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 0/0, 1/1. She can go with her adopted lamb at side, a chocolate ewelamb (out of KMC 19122 and BC H  974), by  6/30/21 for $525.
