Offered for sale as a purebred Katahdin yearling ewe $325, genotyped
Beautiful, feminine wheaten colored ewe. Positive growth EBVs and modest maternal traits, a little weak on milk, but should be an uncomplicated producer. Sired by a framey, dark chocolate ram from Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri). Dam traces to On The Lamb Farm (SJG) and Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired). I had a big run of stillborn births this year that I think was caused by grass tetany. This ewe was one of them, she delivered a healthy-looking, full-term but stillborn lamb that she tried hard to mother. I won’t count this against her as I think it was environmental.
Photo from May2022. She’s in the middle of shedding, but I expect all this to come off, she has a very slick hair coat below. EBVs from 2022 lamb crop WWT data and includes the new Genomics run calculations, and this ewe is genotyped herself. This ewe is register-able and ready to go to a new home today.
