Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $300
Classic white ewe, good shedding hair coat. Really strong growth and milk, but with lower prolificacy, so this girl will likely avoid triplets most of the time. Sire is from Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM, Iowa), which is a strong grass-based NSIP flock. Dam is out of local genetics, plus some Aspen Mountain Farm (Aileen Scott, Montana). Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 2/1, 2/2.
Photo taken August 2020. She is a little lean coming off of nursing her lambs, which is always the case for these high-scoring milk ewes, they “milk off their backs” a lot. But she will bounce back quickly on fall forage. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe’s lambs are weaned and she is ready to go to a new home and breed this fall!
