Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $300
Beautiful red ewe, well put together and nice-shedding hair coat. Moderate frame size. Positive growth EBVs, lower on milk and survival, and quite low on prolificacy. She’ll likely steer clear of triplets. Pedigree is a blend of Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired), White Post Farm (East Coast, now retired) and hardy, old-stock local genetics, including a ram out of the old Bert Martineau line, one of the original Washington State Katahdin commercial flocks. Breeding record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2, 1/1, 1/1.
Photo is from my archives in summer 2018, but she looks just as good now. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe’s lamb is weaned and she is ready to go to a new home and breed this fall!
