Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $400, exposed
Beautiful red ewe, well put together and nice-shedding hair coat. Moderate frame size. Positive growth EBVs, lower on milk and survival, and quite low on prolificacy. She’ll likely steer clear of triplets. Pedigree is a blend of Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired), White Post Farm (East Coast, now retired) and hardy, old-stock local genetics, including a ram out of the old Bert Martineau line, one of the original Washington State Katahdin commercial flocks. Breeding record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2, 1/1, 1/1.
Photo was taken November 2020. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe has been exposed to a ram starting 11/8. Rams are wearing marking harnesses, so I will know her breed date.
