Offered for sale as a purebred Katahdin ewelamb $275

Big ewelamb with some brown spots on her back. Nice, balanced EBVs across the board, though a little lower on prolificacy than I prefer. Pedigree has Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana) ewe and Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, retired), tracking back to KRK and Just Plain Sheep (Jody Ouradnik). Plus a Dorper cross in there from Shirley Hasbrouck (HHS, Shelton, WA), and a ram from now-retired Bert Martineau’s large commercial flock.

Photo taken Aug 2020.  EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewelamb is weaned and ready to go to a new home today!

Offered for sale as a purebred Katahdin ewelamb $350, exposed

Classic white ewelamb, really nicely put together. Positive growth metrics and really stellar prolificacy, survival and milk. This lamb is out of my top-indexing ewe. I am keeping her sibling and don’t normally keep both in a set of twins, so she’s an opportunity to get some of my best genetics. Pedigree has Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana) ewe and Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, retired), tracking back to KRK and Just Plain Sheep (Jody Ouradnik). This ewe meets the criteria for NSIP Maternal Certified.

Photo taken Aug 2020.  EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe has been exposed to a ram starting 11/8. Rams are wearing marking harnesses, so I will know her breed date. Note that for me, ewelambs have about a 50/50 chance of conceiving in their yearling year, so no guarantees; but plan on feeding her well in case she is bred.

Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $670 with lambs at side through May 16th

Beautiful Hereford-red ewe, very well put together. Moderate frame size. Positive growth EBVs, lower on milk and prolificacy. She’ll likely steer clear of triplets most of the time. Pedigree is a blend of Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired) plus hardy, old-stock local genetics, including a ram out of the old Bert Martineau line, one of the original Washington State Katahdin commercial flocks. Breeding record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2, 2/2, 2/2, 2/2, 2/2.

Photo taken August 2020. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. She has twin lambs at side, a ewelamb with red spots and a ram lamb with black and mahogany-colored spots. Price good through mid-May, then it will adjust up to reflect the size/age of her lambs. Current price reflects dam as registered, ewelamb as register-able, and ram lamb as commercial. $100 more (now or later) for ram lamb registration. Beautiful red ewe, well put together and nice-shedding hair coat. Moderate frame size. Positive growth EBVs, lower on milk and survival, and quite low on prolificacy. She’ll likely steer clear of triplets. Breeding record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2, 1/1, 1/1, 2/2.

Photo was taken November 2020. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe has twin lambs at side. They are both very dark mahogany color, the ewelamb has a white krunet face marking, and the ram lamb has a white star. Price good through mid-May, then it will adjust up to reflect the size/age of her lambs. Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $400, exposed

Classic white ewe, good shedding hair coat. Really strong growth and milk, but with lower prolificacy, so this girl will likely avoid triplets most of the time. Sire is from Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM, Iowa), which is a strong grass-based NSIP flock. Dam is out of local genetics, plus some Aspen Mountain Farm (Aileen Scott, Montana). Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 2/1, 2/2.

Photo taken November 2020. EBVs from 2020 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe has been exposed to a ram starting 11/8. Rams are wearing marking harnesses, so I will know her breed date.

Really nicely put together white ewe. Positive EBVs across the board, she should be a very standard producing Katahdin ewe. Pedigree brings in Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri), Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, Iowa), and Aspen Mountain Farm (Aileen Scott, Montana).

Offered for sale as a purebred Katahdin ewelamb $275

Dark chocolate ewelamb.Positive growth, milk and fairly high prolificacy, this girl will tend towards twins and triplets. She is out of my new ram from Missouri, one of the few I’m letting go. Her dam’s side is a blend of local genetics and Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana).

Photo taken Aug 2020.  EBVs from 2020 lamb crop WWT data. This ewelamb is weaned and ready to go to a new home today.

Very dark chocolate ewelamb. Positive growth, very good milk and survival, but modest on prolificacy, she’ll likely steer away from triplets most of the time. She is in my top quartile for index, with those high NLW  and milk scores. Pedigree blends local genetics with Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, retired), Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana), and Birch Cove (David Coplen, Missouri).

Very dark chocolate ewelamb. Positive growth, good milk and survival, but modest on prolificacy, she’ll likely steer away from triplets most of the time. Pedigree blends local genetics with Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, retired), Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana), and a On The Lamb Farm ram that goes back to White Post (East Coast, now retired). This should be a solid, uncomplicated ewe.
