Offered for sale as a purebred, registered Katahdin ewe $670 with lambs at side through May 16th 

Beautiful Hereford-red ewe, very well put together. Moderate frame size. Positive growth EBVs, lower on milk and prolificacy. She’ll likely steer clear of triplets most of the time. Pedigree is a blend of Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, now retired) plus hardy, old-stock local genetics, including a ram out of the old Bert Martineau line, one of the original Washington State Katahdin commercial flocks. Breeding record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2, 2/2, 2/2, 2/2, 2/2.

They are both very dark mahogany color, the ewelamb has a white krunet face marking, and the ram lamb has a white star. Price good through mid-May, then it will adjust up to reflect the size/age of her lambs. Classic white ewe, good shedding hair coat. Really strong growth and milk, but with lower prolificacy, so this girl will likely avoid triplets most of the time. Sire is from Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, DVM, Iowa), which is a strong grass-based NSIP flock. Dam is out of local genetics, plus some Aspen Mountain Farm (Aileen Scott, Montana). Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/2, 2/1, 2/2.

Really nicely put together white ewe. Positive EBVs across the board, she should be a very standard producing Katahdin ewe. Pedigree brings in Birch Cove Farm (David Coplen, Missouri), Thistle Grove Farm (John Bare, Iowa), and Aspen Mountain Farm (Aileen Scott, Montana).

Dark chocolate ewelamb.Positive growth, milk and fairly high prolificacy, this girl will tend towards twins and triplets. She is out of my new ram from Missouri, one of the few I’m letting go. Her dam’s side is a blend of local genetics and Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana).

She is in my top quartile for index, with those high NLW  and milk scores. Chocolate ewelamb with a white sock, tail tip and star. Positive growth, milk and very high survival; modest on NLB, so she’ll likely steer away from triplets. This will be a very predictable, productive ewe. She is in my top quartile for index due to her high NLW and good growth and milk scores. She has a lot of larger-frame ewes in her background and appears to be headed in that direction herself. Line bred on an Aspen Mountain (Aileen Scott, Montana) ewe and tracing back to White Post (East Coast, now retired), Misty River Farm (Mary Bakko, Moses Lake, retired) and some local stock in there too.
