KMC 18035

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $300

Striking red roan ewe, with positive growth and milk, and moderate prolificacy. She will likely be a consistent twinner that steers clear of triplets most of the time. Diverse pedigree including Missouri (Birch Cove Farm) genetics as well as some old-stock WA Katahdins and KRK.

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2019 lamb crop birth data. This ewe is ready to grow out and breed this fall to lamb as a two-year-old.

Offered for sale as a registered ewe $420 with ram lamb at side

Classic white ewe with really good growth and very high prolificacy, this girl likely has triplets in her future. Her milk score is a little low, but her mother can successfully raise triplets, so I think this girl will be able to  as well. She is the only yearling here who had twins in 2019, so that is a strong data point for prolificacy already. She was a very attentive yearling mother, but unfortunately laid on one of her tiny twins and it wasn’t big enough to wiggle free. This year, she had twins, but one was stillborn, which is likely just bad luck. I think this ewe will be very productive over her lifetime, he dam is one of my top-scoring ewes and will probably be here into her teens.

Photo taken May 2019 with her lamb.  EBVs from 2019 lamb crop PWWT data. This ewe has a chocolate-colored ram lamb at side, they can go as a pair for $420 before the end of May.

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $420 with wether lamb at side

Flashy red pinto spotted ewe, great shedder. Positive EBVs and a little low on milk; this girl should be an easy keeper that doesn’t stray into triplets very often. Diverse pedigree, her maternal grandmother is from Birch Cove Farm in Missouri, and she’s got a good mix of old-stock WA genetics; plus a Dorper cross three generations back on the maternal side.

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2019 lamb crop birth data. This ewe can go with her (wethered) white ram lamb at side before July 7th, or solo after I wean him in August.

Offered for sale as a registered ewe $500 with ewelamb at side

Meaty white ewe with positive EBVs across the board and really strong milk, she should be a very balanced producer that mostly avoids triplets. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 2/1 (stillborn twin in 2020).

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2019 lamb PWWT data. This ewe has a white ewelamb at side, they can go as a pair for $500 before the end of May.

Offered for sale as a registered purebred Katahdin ewe pet, $275

Standard ewe with red flecks. She is a really good mama and has nice lambs, but has a damaged udder from subclinical mastitis in a past year and can really only raise one lamb, thus I’m discounting her as a pet. But with supplementation or orphan rearing, she could give you good lambs for years to come. Or she can make a nice pasture ornament. Lambing record starting as a yearling: 1/1, 1/1/ 2/1, 2/2, 2/1.

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2023 lamb crop WWT data.  This ewe is NSIP genotyped. She has a white ram lamb at side that could go with her for an extra fee, or she can go when he is weaned in July.

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $300

Very flashy chocolate pinto ewe. Good growth and milk metrics, moderate on prolificacy. Early shedder. She brings in genetics from Iowa (Thistle Grove Farm) and Missouri (Birch Cove Farm) for diversity to the PNW gene pool.

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2019 lamb crop birth data. This yearling ewe is ready to grow out and breed in the fall to lamb as a two year old.

KMC 18119

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, $300

This is a gorgeous, feminine ewe with very striking red pinto markings. She has good growth metrics, modest on prolificacy and a little low on milk. But, she comes from very old genetics- KRK33 was a ewe who lived 13 years and had 30 lambs in her lifetime, so prolificacy and milk is there on the maternal side, but 33’s data wasn’t captured in NSIP. This pedigree brings in some genetics from Iowa (Thistle Grove Farm) and Missouri (Birch Cove Farm).

KMC 18062

Offered for sale as a registered ewe $700 with lambs at side

A beautiful, balanced and long-bodied white ewe. Modest and balanced EBVs predict this ewe won’t be extreme in any metric, but will likely solidly produce good twins without much complication. She has Missouri (Birch Cove Farm), Iowa (Thistle Grove Farm) and now-retired Misty River Farm (eastern WA) genetics; so this is a very diverse pedigree.

Photo taken May 2021, she is still in the process of shedding, but is a clean shedder.  EBVs from 2021 lamb crop birth data. Lambing record starting as a 2-year-old: 2/2. She can go with lambs at side for $700 total for the group, by 6/30/21. She has a chocolate ewelamb and a white ram lamb at side (out of BC H 974).

KMC 18151

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $450 with ewelamb at side

A classic white, feminine ewe. She has positive growth and milk metrics, and moderate prolificacy; so should be an easy-care ewe. Her pedigree brings in fresh blood from Iowa and Missouri, two grass-fed NSIP flocks that have brought me strong genetic improvement. She lambed freely on pasture and is being a great mother as a yearling. She has a chocolate ewelamb at side (not pictured), sired by KMC7018. Selling them as a pair for $450 if picked up before July 7th.

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2019 lamb crop birth data. This ewe can go any time with her ewelamb at side; or solo after lamb is weaned in August.

Full disclosure: this ewe’s dam and grandam both had vaginal prolapse, which can be hereditary; and some people cull for it on first offense. In my own flock, I don’t consider it a “dealbreaker” unless it recurs, because it’s also often caused by environmental/ nutrition issues. Other ewes from these lines have not shown the problem. Since this ewe lambed normally as a yearling, I don’t feel she or her daughter are very likely to repeat this issue. But I do like to be transparent about potential defects, and I have discounted her from what I would charge if she did not have this question mark in her history.

KMC 18092

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $450 with ewelamb at side

A pretty, refined buckskin colored ewe with white socks and tail. She has positive growth and milk metrics, and moderate prolificacy; so should be an easy-care ewe. She lambed freely and is showing very strong maternal behavior as a yearling. She has a very flashy-marked panda faced ewelamb at side. The lamb is purebred, but I don’t know who the sire is, as this ewe was bred late while running with a large group of butcher lambs in the winter. The ewelamb can be recorded as 50% if the buyer desires. Selling them as a pair for $450 if picked up before July 7th.

Photo taken May 2019.  EBVs from 2019 lamb crop birth data. This ewe can go any time with her ewelamb at side; or solo after lamb is weaned in August.
