KMC 6005

Offered for sale as a registered two-year-old ewe, $300

A deep-bodied, chocolate ewe. Good mother, good shedder. She’s middle-of-the-road on EBVs, positive growth numbers, a little light on milk and survival, but strong for twinning genetics. I expect her to be a solid producer that lives a long life.

Photo taken Aug 2017. EBVs from 2018 lamb crop WWT data. She has twin lambs at side, (18053, 10854) which will be weaned mid-August, or she could go before then with one or both (lambs cost extra). Lambing record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2.

KMC 7031

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $475

This is a buckskin lamb with flashy white markings. His dam is new to my farm, so she lacks any NSIP data or accuracy, and was never bred before arriving here. But she is a big, deep-bodied ewe that’s mellow to handle and has been a good mother. I think there may be more potential in these genetics than the EBVs can tell us at this point, but so far, these twin rams have grown well.

KMC 6014

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $300

A very standard white ewe with very strong prolificacy scores and a high index. A little leaner on milk and growth, but this girl will make it up in multi-births that survive.

EBVs from this year’s lamb crop sixty day weight data. Photo taken in July. She is ready to go to a new home today!

KMC 6064

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe $350

A pretty, tall chocolate brockle-faced ewe. She has very balanced EBVs across the board, good growth, positive prolificacy and good milk. This is hard to get. Her sire brings in fresh blood from Iowa, John Bare DVM and Thistle Grove Farm. Dam is from some old stock WA genetics, with a Dorper thrown in way in the background; plus a North Dakota State ram in there too.

EBVs from this year’s lamb crop sixty day weight data. Photo taken in June as a yearling, she has since shed cleanly. This ewe is ready to travel to a new home today and breed this fall!

KMC 6012

Offered for sale as a registered two-year-old ewe, $400, exposed starting 11/3/18

This is a very well-built white ewe with a classic Katahdin frame. She has positive growth and solid prolificacy scores, but is somewhat weak on milk. She will make a very solid producer and will likely have lots of twins and triplets over her lifetime.

EBVs from 2018 lamb crop 120 day weight data. Photo taken November 2018. Lambing record starting as a two-year-old: 2/2. She is bred to KMC7018, due to lamb in April.

KMC 7055

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $450

This is a masculine and tall white ram. He has strong maternal traits and good growth EBVs. This is a ram with genetics geared towards producing replacement ewes in your flock, while still producing plenty of growth in butcher lambs. His scores qualify him for the NSIP Maternal Certified distinction.

His sire brings new genetics to the PNW from Iowa, where John Bare at Thistle Grove Farm concentrates on EBVs and genetics for prolificacy and growth in a grass system. His maternal side has some old-time PNW genetics that come from farms which no longer exist. Two of his maternal granddams were upgrades that brought fresh genetics into the pedigree. He avoids all of the local over-used sires that bottleneck almost every pedigree in the area. This guy can genuinely bring you some fresh blood and hybrid vigor, with solid EBVs to match. The only drawback is he has developed scurs, so I have discounted him accordingly.

EBVs from 2017 sixty day weight data. Photo taken mid July. This ram can be weaned any time to go to a new home, and should be able to start breeding right away when ewes start cycling in early fall.

A classic and very balanced white Katahdin ram lamb with strong maternal traits and good growth EBVs. This is a ram with genetics geared towards producing replacement ewes in your flock, while still producing plenty of growth in butcher lambs. KMC 7041

Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $500

This is a well-put-together red ram with strong growth numbers. He had a weird infection in his shoulder when he was young, caused by Actinomyces, which is a normal mouth bacteria that sometimes goes where it shouldn’t due to injury, and causes “lumpy jaw.” I successfully treated him and he’s doing great now, but this meant he spent some time in the barn and around people. So he’s an extra mellow and friendly guy, but still respectful, so should be an easy-to-handle adult.

EBVs from 2017 sixty day weight data. Photo taken early July. This ram is weaned and ready to go to a new home today, and should be able to start breeding right away when ewes start cycling in early fall.
