Offered for sale as a registered ram lamb $475

This is a very flashy-marked chocolate and white pinto ram lamb. He has the top PWWT score here, and a really strong WWT EBV as well. His maternal scores are pretty solid, to boot, so this ram will be a good all-rounder that makes fast-growing butcher lambs and good replacement ewe daughters. He is out of two 2015 parents, so represents the “best of the best” of the next gen of high-EBV scorers here.

A big, beefy red ram with long white hind socks. He has modest prolificacy scores, but they are also of lower accuracy, since both his parents are young, only aged two. He will definitely be a strong terminal sire for grower lambs, as his growth scores are some of the highest here. But he is balanced enough to also produce replacement ewes, his daughters may not be triplet-heavy, but they will be reliable producers of fast-growing lambs. This guy brings in fresh blood from Iowa and Missouri, both from grass-fed farms that select for parasite resistance and maternal ability.

Offered for sale as a registered yearling ewe, $325

A nice-sized white ewe with some red markings. She has a slick, early-shedding coat. Positive growth numbers and higher on the prolificacy scale, I would expect this girl to have occasional  (or more) triplets, like she did this year.

Offered for sale as a commercial yearling ewe, bred $300

This is a good-sized buckskin ewe with a lot of white markings. She has a lot of color in her pedigree. Her EBVs are modest, partly because there isn’t a lot of data in the system for her dam’s side. I expect her to be a consistent twinner with no extreme traits. She retained enough wool this year to qualify as a “C” coat, so I’m selling her unregistered as a commercial ewe, at a discount. She’s shed enough to not require shearing, so it’s just an aesthetic issue. Sometimes sheep that shed this far as yearlings do shed fully in subsequent years. If she does, I could upgrade her to registered later for another $100.

This ewe has been exposed to a ram, due to lamb in April. Her lambs will be registerable. Keep in mind that mature ewes usually twin, so the floor of profit is $400 in butcher lambs, more if you sell some registered lambs or have triplets, so bred ewes have a great ROI. This ewe has gorgeous, mahogany pinto coloration, which is unusual in females. She is a clean shedder, a good mother, moderate sized and calm and easy to handle. She is in her prime and has many years of productivity ahead of her. I’m selling her because her EBVs are pretty modest across the board, and I also have a lot of these genetics already.

This is a very well-built white ewe with a few red spots here and there. Very balanced, classic Katahdin, medium-framed and easygoing.She has good growth and prolificacy scores, and is only slightly weak on milk. I’d keep her, but I already have a lot of these genetics!
